Student's Grievance Redressal Cell

The function of the cell is to look into the complaints lodged by any student of college and judge its merit. Anyone with a genuine grievance may approach the cell in person. In case the person is unwilling to appear in self, grievances may be dropped in writing at the letterbox/ suggestion box. Grievances may also be sent through college e-mail to the member/officer in-charge of Students' Grievance Cell.
OBJECTIVES OF THE CELL This Cell has been created in the college to resolve issues related to student’s problems, develop a responsive and accountable attitude among the all stakeholders in order to maintain a harmonious educational atmosphere in Institute.
Following are some important objectives: To develop an organizational framework to resolve Grievances of Students and other stakeholders. To provide the students access to immediate, hassle free recourse to have their Grievances redressed. Encouraging the students to express their grievances / problems freely and frankly, without any fear of being victimized. Suggestion / complaint Box is installed in the college in which the students, who want to remain anonymous, put in writing their grievances and their suggestions for improving the Academics / Administration in the College

PROCEDURE FOR LODGING COMPLAINT The students may feel free to put up a grievance in writing and drop it in complaint box or through email. The Grievance Cell will act upon those cases The Grievance Cell will assure that the grievance has been properly solved in a stipulated time limit provided by the cell depending upon the nature of complaint.

Electoral Literacy Club

West Silchar College has established its Electoral Literacy Club with an aim to provide an opportunity to the students to know about their electoral rights and electoral participation. The ELC of West Silchar College also serve as a platform for providing direct experience as a voter to the students. This will not only make the students aware of the importance of participation and voting but also generate an enthusiasm among them for participating in all electoral processes even after graduating from the college. The Electoral Literacy Club of West Silchar College comprises of three members who are from the faculty of Political Science Department. Besides, the ELC has got campus ambassador from amongst the students.

Objectives The ELC of West Silchar College was created with the certain aims and objectives- To educate the students about the entire process of election in India. To educate students about their democratic rights, voting rights etc. To prepare students as future electoral. To make aware about the value of electoral participation. To develop a sense of pride and responsibility while acting as an active electoral. To develop a culture of electoral participation with ethical and moral values. To provide practical electoral experiences to the students through some co-curricular activities.
Activities West Silchar College Students’ Union Election was held for the session 2022-23. Classroom lectures and various demonstration programmes have been organised. The ELC is preparing for more extra-curricular activities to be undertaken in coming days.
